How Your Address Validation Feature Works

Modified on Thu, 22 Aug at 1:10 AM

Explore how to set up, manage, and use the “Address Validation” feature in your Customer Dashboard. This feature tries to identify if the address is most likely incorrect, which helps avoid delays in delivery and makes customers more satisfied.

How to enable or disable Address Validation?

To activate Address Validation in your byrd Dashboard, follow these easy steps:

  1. Log in to your Dashboard and click on “Settings”.
  2. Select “Configurations” and then navigate to “Shipment Settings”.
  3. Check the box labeled "Enable Address Validation" and save your settings. To disable Address Validation, simply uncheck the same box and save your settings again.

Cost Information: Address Validation is offered for free until the end of 2024. After this period, charges may apply.

How our Address Validation works?

Once enabled, Address Validation automatically checks each shipment address:

  • If the address is valid, the shipment proceeds as usual.
  • If the address format is incorrect or appears invalid, the shipment is held in the "Created" tab.
  • You can edit the address, and Address Validation will recheck it upon release.
  • Alternatively, if you believe the address is correct (for example, after checking with your customer), you can release the shipment even if it was initially blocked.

Important note: Shipments to the following countries must include a valid house number to pass address validation: DE, AT, BE, CZ, HR, HU, IT, LU, NL, NO, PL, SO, SI, US.
