Cash-on-Delivery Option in Spain with SEUR for Shopify & WooCommerce Shops

Modified on Tue, 27 Aug at 3:27 PM

Follow these easy steps to enable Cash-on-Delivery (CoD) in your Shopify and/or WooCommerce shops for domestic shipments in Spain using SEUR.

What is Cash-on-Delivery (CoD)? Cash on Delivery allows your customers to pay in cash when the order is delivered, instead of paying upfront. With “Cash on Delivery” (CoD) the payment is made at the door to the person delivering the parcel.

How to Set CoD Payment Method in Shopify

You can easily set the Cash on Delivery method in your Shopify by following these steps:

1. Access Payment Settings

  • Go to “Settings”.
  • Select “Payments”.
  • Choose “Manual payments.”

2. Offer CoD at Checkout

  • During the checkout process, the CoD payment method is offered to your online shoppers.

Alternative: Manually Create Orders with CoD

  • From the admin panel, click on “Create order.”
  • Select the “Payment due later” option.
  • Then select “Cash On Delivery” option.

3. Order Status

  • The order will be created with the status Payment pending.
  • Once the order is created and fulfillment is requested from byrd, the order will sync to the Customer Dashboard.
  • It is also possible to filter only CoD shipments in the Customer Dashboard.

How to Set CoD Payment Method in WooCommerce

1. Access Payment Settings

  • Click on “WooCommerce”.
  • Choose “Settings”.
  • Select the tab “Payments” and enable the “Cash on Delivery” payment type toggle.

2. Configure CoD Payment Details

  • Click the “Finish set up” button and include the payment details to be displayed to end customers during the checkout process.

3. Offer CoD at Checkout

  • During the checkout process, the CoD payment method is offered.

4. Order Creation and Payment Status

  • After clicking the Place order button, the order is created.

Important: Note that the payment status of those orders is pending and there is no automatic update when the shipment is paid and delivered to the end consumer. The payment status update needs to be done manually in the WooCommerce dashboard, in the order details, and then update the order to save it.
