A Packaging Unit (P.U.) refers to a group of products packaged together for sale, like a tray of six beverages. In contrast, a Single Unit (S.U.) is an individual item sold separately, such as one beverage from the tray. Packaging units help in managing bulk sales and creating product bundles for promotions.
Follow these steps to create a product with packaging units in your byrd dashboard:
1. Access the Inventory Section
- Log into your byrd dashboard.
- Navigate to the "Inventory" section.
2. Create a New Product
- Click on "New Product".
- Toggle the switch to "Product" or "Bundle" at the top right corner, as per your requirement.
3. Enable Packaging Unit Feature
- Toggle the "Packaging Unit" switch.
4. Add Necessary Information
- Number of Selling Units in P.U.: Specify how many single units are in each packaging unit.
- P.U. Barcode Type and Value: Enter the barcode details for the packaging unit.
- Additional Info for S.U.: Enter barcode and other details for the single unit in the "Additional Info" section.
5. Save the New Product
- After entering all necessary information, click "Save".

Important Points
- Notify byrd: inform byrd before changing this option to avoid order processing issues.
- Editing Existing Products: Inform byrd when editing an existing product to include packaging units.
- Individual Barcodes: Ensure both P.U. and S.U. have individual barcodes.
- Inventory Display: The inventory displays total selling/single units, not packaging units.
Important note: This feature is generally free to use. However, depending on your picking types and processes, some additional fees might apply. For detailed information, please contact our customer support team.
