Understanding Inbound Processing Timelines for Your Deliveries

Modified on Tue, 27 Aug at 2:59 PM

Inbound processing is a crucial part of getting your products ready for shipment. Here’s what you need to know about how long it takes and what factors can affect the timeline.

Standard Inbound Processing Time

For most deliveries, inbound processing takes 3 working days from the day your delivery arrives. Here’s how it works:

  • Day 1: The day your delivery arrives (e.g., Monday).
  • Day 2 & 3: Inbounding takes place.
  • Day 4: Your products are ready to be shipped.

Example: If 500 products are delivered on Monday at 1:00 p.m., they will be processed by the end of Wednesday, and you can start shipping them on Thursday.

Factors That May Extend Processing Time

In some cases, the inbound processing timeline might be extended. This could happen if:

  • Large or Complex Deliveries: Increased quantities of products, pallets, or boxes.
  • Unsorted or Hard-to-Identify Products: Products that are not organized or labeled clearly.
  • Repackaging Needs: Deliveries that require additional packaging.
  • Missing Information or Incorrect Announcements: If the delivery details are incomplete or incorrect.

Please note: This is just a shortlist of examples. To avoid any delays, be sure to follow the full delivery guidelines. For more information turn to this  »article.«

Important: Proper inbound planning by byrd is key to meeting the SLA. Providing a shipment tracking number and regularly updating delivery announcements are essential steps.

Onboarding Deliveries

For your first deliveries during the onboarding process, the inbound processing time is typically at least 5 working days unless otherwise agreed.
